We are looking for a Lead Python MCP Engineer to lead the creation of a production-ready, cloud-native Enterprise Agent Development Platform that allows engineering teams to define, orchestrate, deploy, and monitor AI agents at scale. Using LangGraph and Strands Agents on AWS AgentCore Runtime, this platform standardizes agent development across the organization, offering a single-file developer experience where runtime, tooling, observability, and deployment are managed automatically.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the template library and MCP factory/delivery service to support scalable agent development
- Implement server-side MCP protocol functionality to enable consistent agent-tool communication
- Build and optimize serverless components using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
- Develop asynchronous Python services leveraging FastMCP, asyncio, and Pydantic
- Integrate observability standards across the platform using OpenTelemetry for traces, metrics, and logs
- Enforce container security baseline practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shorten agent development timelines from months to days
- Maintain consistent security, quality, and governance standards across the platform
