Why This Role Matters The RNE (Registration, Numbers and Enablement) group within Vonage's Foundation Engineering department works across four core product domains: Registration, Numbers, Number Intelligence, and Know Your Customer (KYC). Our senior engineers play a key role in driving technical quality and platform evolution, working on a modern cloud-native stack across both greenfield and existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop highly concurrent, distributed backend services with a focus on high availability
- Take solid ownership of architectural contributions, driving technical decisions within and across teams
- Lead performance optimisation efforts and proactively diagnose complex system issues
- Design, develop and test new features, setting a high bar for quality and reliability
- Support the release and documentation of developed features
- Define and champion coding standards and development processes
- Mentor and support more junior engineers within the team
- Provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota.
