You will serve as both the people manager and technical leader for the Chronicle engineering team. You will translate company and product priorities into clear team goals, establish effective ways of working, and remain close enough to the technology to guide decisions and support engineers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the direct line manager for assigned engineers and take responsibility for their day-to-day employee experience.
- Establish clear expectations, responsibilities, objectives, and accountability.
- Hold monthly one-to-one meetings and provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback.
- Coach and develop team members through individual growth goals, stretch opportunities, and practical support.
- Set individual objectives and development plans, assess progress, address performance concerns promptly and fairly, and recognize strong contributions.
- Prepare evidence-based performance reviews and lead review conversations.
- Approve time-off requests while balancing employee wellbeing, team coverage, and delivery commitments.
- Support hiring, onboarding, career development
- Addressing people matters in partnership with HR.
- Monitor workload, engagement, wellbeing, and team dynamics.
