An overview of this role You'll lead GitLab's Dedicated Infrastructure team, combining hands-on technical leadership with team development. Working with the team's Product Manager, you'll balance delivery speed and quality, guide architecture decisions, and lead the team through incidents.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the team's Product Manager to set clear priorities and deliver with quality and speed.
- Maintain at least 99.9% availability for Dedicated infrastructure, strengthen security, and automate operations to support more tenants at scale.
- Give your team clear direction and meaningful feedback, and build shared ownership of development and operations.
- Improve the platforms and tools your team owns so feature implementers can manage their services in production through self-service workflows.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop productive team members, supporting their growth and accountability.
- Lead by example with proofs of concept and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted approaches. Simplify processes and automate repetitive manual work.
- Model effective incident management, lead timely resolution and escalation, and document and teach best practices across GitLab.
- Use data to prioritize work, quantify impact, and manage risk and technical debt. Explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders to support their decisions.
