We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. Coinbase Advisor is the world's first RIA-licensed agentic trading system: an AI advisor living inside the Coinbase app that holds a natural conversation about a user's portfolio, gives personalized financial advice, and executes trades on their behalf.

Responsibilities

Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies, from technical design through launch and ongoing operation
Build integrations with Coinbase's trading APIs so agent recommendations and user-configured strategies translate into correct, auditable execution
Develop our agentic harness, including tool calling, orchestration, persistent state, and recovery from failed or partially completed actions
Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering, evals, and conversation analysis, partnering with our registered investment adviser on changes to financial advice
Improve service reliability, latency, observability, and execution safety, including retry behavior and safeguards against duplicate actions
Partner with frontend engineering, product, design, trading infrastructure, and legal/compliance to ship customer-facing capabilities within regulatory guardrails
