Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer who will bring operational maturity, deep, hands-on subject-matter expertise with Go and the Kubernetes API, and a strong drive to make an impact. You will report to the Head of Infrastructure and will be responsible for successful delivery of Infrastructure roadmap objectives, with the goal of providing a self-service platform that allows product developers to independently operate Calendly’s services.
• Designing and building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform
• Evaluating and guiding the development of applications across the organization
• Offering and evangelizing patterns for application teams to consume for cloud native applications development
• 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development
• 4+ years of experience leading technical projects
• Comfortable, and practiced, working directly with internal customers to understand needs/requirements and collaborate on solutions
• Strong Go (Golang) development experience; especially writing APIs to build, orchestrate and manage cloud infrastructure
• Expert knowledge of patterns and principles for designing and implementing cloud native applications on Kubernetes, such as Controllers and Operators
• Experience building applications on Temporal a plus
